Welcome to FoilBuddies! By using our service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using the service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using FoilBuddies, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the service.

We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or through the service.

2. Use of Service

2.1 Requirements

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the service
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
  • You are responsible for keeping your account information confidential
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

2.2 Permitted Use

You may use FoilBuddies to:

  • Find and share information about foiling spots
  • View weather forecasts and conditions
  • Check in at spots and see who's there
  • Add favorites and give ratings
  • Communicate with other users through the service

3. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Post false, misleading or inappropriate content
  • Harass, bully or threaten other users
  • Violate others' privacy or rights
  • Spread spam, viruses or malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without permission
  • Scrape or automatically collect data from the service
  • Act in a way that could damage the service's reputation

4. User Content

4.1 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for all content you post on FoilBuddies, including spots, comments, ratings and images. You warrant that you have the right to share this content.

4.2 License to Us

By posting content on FoilBuddies, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display and distribute your content in connection with the service.

4.3 Moderation

We reserve the right to review, moderate or remove content that violates these terms or that we deem inappropriate. New spots must be approved by administrators before being published.

5. Weather Data and Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Weather data is for guidance only and may be inaccurate.

  • Weather forecasts are provided by third parties and may be wrong or outdated
  • You are responsible for assessing weather conditions before going out
  • Foiling can be dangerous - always use common sense and proper safety equipment
  • We are not responsible for accidents, injuries or losses resulting from use of the service
  • Always check local conditions and warnings before going out on the water

6. Spot Information

Information about spots is user-generated and may be inaccurate or outdated. We do our best to verify information, but:

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of spot descriptions
  • Conditions may change over time
  • Access to spots may be restricted or prohibited
  • You are responsible for respecting local rules and private property
  • Be considerate of other users of the area

7. Intellectual Property

FoilBuddies and all content, features and functionality (including but not limited to information, software, text, graphics, logos and design) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute or sell any part of the service without our written permission.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service immediately, without notice, if you violate these terms or if we deem it necessary to protect the service or other users.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or deleting your account in settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, profit or goodwill
  • Damages resulting from use or inability to use the service
  • Actions or content from other users
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Norwegian law. Any disputes shall be resolved in Norwegian courts.
